Press Conference - World's Premier 10K Run wears a New Face - Event executed by Team Green Chili Events

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Procam International, The Launch Press Conference of the TCS World 10K Bangalore 2011.

Superstar Ganesh, the 'Face of the Event' has confirmed his presence at the Launch Press Conference.





On June 5, the world’s leading track and long distance runners and thousands of Bangaloreans will come together under the banner of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to run their hearts out. The arrival of this fun-filled event was announced at a press conference held at the ITC Windsor recently.

An increase in the prize money, and the presence of the reigning Olympic marathon champion, Constantina Dita, are some of the highlights of this year’s run. The charity drive associated with the event, which is spearheaded by Bangalore Cares, is poised for a quantum leap this year. 72 NGOs have already registered themselves while 13 Care Champions and nine Corporate Cares team have confirmed their participation resulting in over Rs 45 lakh already generated towards charity. Another highlight of the event this year is that it coincides with the ‘World Environment Day’.

The event will also include ‘Health and Style Expo’, organised at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium, on the four days preceeding the event. Kannada actor, Ganesh, was also present at the event as the ‘face of the event’. “This event is really cool as we will all be running for a really good cause. I will also be running and am really excited about it,” he said.

The ‘TCS World 10K’ will include the ‘World 10K Run For Elite Men And Women’, which is expected to attract the cream of professional and long distance runners; ‘Senior Citizens’ Run’ and ‘Wheelchair Event’, covering a distance of four km, and the ‘Open 10k Run’, open to both serious and amateur runners. The participants will be seen wearing a clip during their run which will calculate their timing with a split second precision. 

They will also be a given a certificate which is recognised globally. The other events include ‘The Corporate Challenge’ and the 5.7km ‘Majja Run’. Bangaloreans can opt for either of the races based on their fitness levels and objective for running.
